Privacy Policy

How Sportsinteraction collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website or hold an account, in line with the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act and applicable federal law.

Last updated: November 2, 2026Applies to: Alberta, Canada

01Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Sportsinteraction (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information about visitors to this website and people who register for an account. Personal information means any information about an identifiable individual, such as your name, date of birth, contact details, payment details, location or account activity.

Our services are intended only for adults aged 18 or older who are physically located in Alberta. Because gambling in Alberta is a regulated activity, we are required to collect certain information to confirm who you are, where you are and that you are eligible to play, and to keep records of transactions. This policy describes what we collect for those purposes and for running the website.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies (for example, to information that crosses provincial or national borders), the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and its regulations administered by FINTRAC, and the applicable requirements of Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) and Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC).

By using the website or opening an account, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described here. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it at the point of collection, and you can withdraw it as explained in User Rights.

Under PIPA, every organization must designate one or more individuals to be accountable for its compliance with the Act. Questions about this policy, requests to access or correct your information and privacy complaints can be sent to our privacy contact at privacy@sportsiteraction.slonik.store. We will respond within the timeframes set by PIPA.

03Personal Information Collected

We collect only the information we need for the purposes described in this policy. Depending on how you use the website, this may include:

  • Identity and contact information — full legal name, date of birth, residential address, email address, phone number and, where required, government-issued identification details.
  • Account information — username, encrypted password, account preferences, communication choices and any limits you set.
  • Financial information — payment method details, deposit and withdrawal history, and information needed to meet anti-money laundering obligations.
  • Gaming activity — bets placed, casino game sessions, stakes, outcomes, balances and account history.
  • Location information — data used to confirm that you are physically in Alberta when real-money play is attempted.
  • Technical information — IP address, device and browser type, operating system, language settings and log data.
  • Communications — messages you send to support through email or the contact form, and our replies.

We collect most of this information directly from you. Some of it comes from service providers that help us verify identity, process payments or confirm location, as described in Third-Party Services. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we close the account and delete the information unless the law requires us to keep it.

04Account Registration

When you register, we ask for your name, date of birth, email address, residential address and a password. We use this information to create and secure your account, to confirm that you meet the age and residency requirements, to communicate with you about your account and to prevent a single person from opening more than one account.

Your password is stored only in a hashed form; our staff cannot see it. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for telling us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

Some fields are mandatory because regulated gambling requires them. If you choose not to provide them, we will not be able to open an account for you, although you can still browse the public pages of the website.

05Identity Verification

Before you can play for real money or withdraw funds, we must verify your identity and age. This is a requirement of AGLC and of federal anti-money laundering law. Verification is often called “Know Your Customer” or KYC.

To verify you, we may compare the details you give us against reliable independent sources through a specialised verification provider, and we may ask you to upload documents such as a government-issued photo ID, proof of address (for example, a recent utility bill or bank statement) or proof of ownership of a payment method. In some cases we may ask for a photo of you holding your ID to confirm the document belongs to you.

We use verification information to confirm eligibility, to detect and prevent fraud, identity theft and underage gambling, and to meet our record-keeping duties. We do not use your identification documents for marketing.

06Financial Information

When you deposit or withdraw, we and our payment processors collect the information needed to complete the transaction: the payment method used, partial card or account details, the transaction amount in CAD, the date and time, and the result. Full card numbers are handled by payment processors that meet the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS); we do not store them on our own systems.

We keep a record of every financial transaction on your account. These records are used to operate the cashier, to resolve payment queries, to meet accounting and tax obligations and to comply with the PCMLTFA. Where the law requires it, we report certain transactions to the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), and we may ask you about the source of your funds.

07Betting Activity

For sports betting, we record each bet you place or attempt to place: the event, market, selection, odds at acceptance, stake, time, settlement result and any return. This betting history is available to you in your account and is kept as part of the regulated record of play.

We use betting history to settle bets correctly, to answer questions or disputes, to meet AGLC reporting and audit requirements, to detect irregular betting patterns that may indicate fraud, collusion or match-fixing, and to identify signs of risky play so that we can offer you responsible gambling support.

08Casino Activity

For casino games, including slots, table games and live dealer tables, we and the game providers record game sessions: the game played, start and end times, each round’s stake and result, and your balance before and after. Live dealer sessions may also record your chat messages to the table, which are moderated for conduct.

Game-play records are used to show you your history, to investigate disputed rounds or malfunctions, to meet regulatory audit requirements and to monitor for cheating, bonus abuse and patterns of play that may suggest gambling-related harm.

09Geolocation Data

Regulated online gambling in Alberta may only be offered to people who are physically inside the province. Before any real-money bet or game is allowed, we must confirm your location, and we may check it again during a session.

Location checks are carried out by a specialised geolocation provider and may use your IP address, nearby Wi-Fi networks, mobile network information or your device’s location services, depending on your device and the permissions you grant. Checks are also designed to detect tools that disguise location, such as VPNs, proxies and remote desktop software.

We use geolocation data only to confirm eligibility, to block play from outside the province, to prevent fraud and to keep the records that regulators require. We do not use precise location to track your movements or for advertising. Browsing the public pages of the website does not require a location check.

10Device Information

When you visit the website, our servers automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, referring page, pages visited and the date and time of each request. This is standard for any website and is needed to deliver pages, keep the service secure and diagnose faults.

For account holders, we may also record device identifiers and sign-in history to detect unusual access, protect against account takeover and identify attempts to open multiple accounts.

11Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to make the website work, for example to keep you signed in, to remember that you confirmed your age and to store your cookie choice. Optional cookies (functional, analytics and marketing) are only used after you allow them through the cookie banner.

The full list of cookies, their purpose and how long they last is set out in our Cookie Policy. You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

12Analytics

Analytics help us understand how visitors use the website so that we can improve pages and fix problems. At present, no third-party analytics tools are installed on this website, and no analytics cookies are set.

If we add an analytics tool in the future, it will only run after you have allowed analytics cookies, we will configure it to collect aggregated or pseudonymous information where possible, and we will list it in the Cookie Policy and update this policy before it is used.

13Marketing

We will only send you marketing messages by email, text or other electronic means if you have given express consent, as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing message includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can also change your preferences in your account or by contacting us.

We do not send marketing to people who have self-excluded, who have asked us not to contact them, or whom we have reason to believe are under 18. Marketing is designed to comply with AGLC advertising standards, and no marketing cookies or advertising tags are currently used on this website. Service messages about your account, security or changes to our terms are not marketing and will still be sent.

14Third-Party Services

We rely on carefully selected service providers to operate a regulated gambling service. They act on our behalf and may only use your information to provide their service to us. Categories include:

  • Identity verification (KYC) providers — check your identity, age and address and screen against sanctions and politically exposed person lists.
  • Payment processors and banks — process deposits and withdrawals and help detect payment fraud.
  • Geolocation providers — confirm that you are inside Alberta before real-money play.
  • Game and sports data providers — supply casino games, live dealer studios, odds and event results.
  • Hosting and IT providers — host the website and databases, provide security monitoring and back-ups.
  • Customer support and communications tools — help us answer your messages and send account emails.

We require these providers, by contract, to protect your information with safeguards comparable to our own, to use it only for the purposes we specify and to return or destroy it when the service ends.

15Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary and permitted by law, including:

  • with the service providers described in Third-Party Services;
  • with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) and Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) for licensing, oversight, audits, self-exclusion programs and complaint handling;
  • with FINTRAC and other authorities where we are required to report transactions or suspicious activity under the PCMLTFA;
  • with law enforcement, courts or other public bodies where we are legally required to, or where disclosure is needed to investigate fraud, cheating or a breach of law;
  • with sports integrity bodies and other regulated operators where needed to investigate match-fixing or betting fraud, as permitted by law;
  • with a successor organization if our business is reorganized, merged or sold, subject to equivalent privacy protections and notice to you.

When we share information, we limit it to what is needed for the specific purpose.

16International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Alberta or outside Canada, for example where verification, payment or hosting systems are located in another country. When this happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it under their law.

PIPA requires us to tell you that we use service providers outside Canada. Before transferring information, we assess the provider and use contractual and technical safeguards so that your information receives a comparable level of protection. You can ask our privacy contact for information about our policies on service providers outside Canada and for the questions those providers can answer about collection, use and disclosure.

17Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected for, or as long as the law requires. Regulated gambling and anti-money laundering rules require us to keep certain records — including identity verification records, transaction records and records of play — for a minimum period after an account is closed. Under the PCMLTFA, many of these records must be kept for at least five years.

Self-exclusion records may be kept for longer so that we can continue to honour the exclusion. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete it or anonymise it so that it can no longer identify you. Technical server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting and then deleted.

18User Rights

Under PIPA and, where it applies, PIPEDA, you have the following rights:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and information about how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.
  • Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. Some details, such as your name or date of birth, may need supporting documents.
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent to optional uses, such as marketing or optional cookies, at any time on reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may limit what we can offer, and it does not apply to information we must keep or use by law.
  • Complaint — complain to us about how we have handled your information.

To make a request, email privacy@sportsiteraction.slonik.store from the address linked to your account. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing information. We respond within 45 days, as PIPA requires, unless an extension is permitted, and we will explain any information we are legally unable to provide.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can ask the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta to review the matter. Contact details are available at oipc.ab.ca.

19Data Security

We protect personal information with administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls that limit information to staff who need it, protection against cross-site request forgery, monitoring for unusual activity and contractual obligations on our service providers.

No system is completely secure. If a breach of security creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta as PIPA requires. You can help protect your account by using a strong, unique password and never sharing your sign-in details.

20Responsible Gambling Data

To support safer play, we record the responsible gambling tools you use — deposit, loss and time limits, reality checks, breaks and self-exclusion — together with the dates they were set or changed. We also analyse account activity, such as changes in deposit frequency, session length or chasing losses, to identify players who may be at risk of harm.

We use this information to apply your limits, to contact you with support information where appropriate, to restrict marketing and, where necessary, to restrict an account. Self-exclusion information may be shared with AGLC and AiGC where you join a provincial self-exclusion program, so that the exclusion can be applied as required. We treat this information as sensitive and limit access to it.

More information about the tools available is on our Responsible Gambling page.

22Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, our service providers or the law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

If we make significant changes that affect how we use your personal information, we will let account holders know by email or a notice in their account before the change takes effect and, where required, ask for fresh consent. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
